I offer intensive, one-on-one reading instruction to kids in grades K-6 who have dyslexia or other difficulties with basic reading and spelling. I help them read and write more accurately, fluently and independently – and meet challenges with greater confidence.
I create a warm, affirming, home-like environment where children can comfortably take the risks needed for learning.
My instruction is:
- Systematic – I explicitly and sequentially teach each reading skill and strategy your child needs
- Personalized– I use students’ strengths and interests to help them learn, and I regularly assess progress to inform instruction.
- Multimodal – Children simultaneously use multiple pathways – visual, auditory and kinesthetic/tactile- to make skills stick
- Proven – My approach is evidence-based grounded in the science of reading, and children make measurable progress.
I am a Certified Wired for Reading Specialist. The programs I use are built on the principles of Structured Literacy and Orton-Gillingham, and are accredited by IMSLEC (International Multisensory Language Education Council). They also meet the criteria of the International Dyslexia Association.
